Welcome

Dear Colleagues

There is no doubt COVID-19 has caused revolutionary disruption and forced us to think about the world in a different way. Every industry was affected directly or indirectly. For us business managers, these challenges are presented in a multitude of streams, from risk management practices to accommodating online learning for a stay-at-home cohort.

The ASBAQ 2020 Conference held in Mackay at the height of the pandemic gave us a glimpse of how the new normal may look. At that time, it seemed rather insurmountable. Nevertheless, you were asked to Make it Happen, Make it Matter. Have you been able to achieve this goal in the face of the adversities COVID-19 still imposes?

Worldwide circumstances did not only present challenges. Silver-lining opportunities exist, and it is our task to find the new normal - to achieve this - we need Fresh Perspectives. How do we as business managers embrace and leverage these opportunities for the advancement of our schools?

The ASBAQ program has always strived to be leading the way and asking the toughest questions facing our sector. The future is unknown - that is what makes it so exciting. We have been given an opportunity to recalibrate and take stock; the time is now to redefine what your future will be – what will be the new normal for your workplace?

  • What role will technology play in the delivery of education moving forward and how will the technology landscape evolve to meet this role? What should systems, schools and teachers do to keep pace?
  • How will you stay connected in a disconnected environment?
  • Are you prepared for the side- step change in how education is to be delivered?
  • What does that mean for future school infrastructure and planning – has the physical footprint of the school boundary shifted?
  • What are the key risks, both operational and strategic, for schools right now?
  • What areas should our schools focus on in order to maintain high standards of governance, risk management and compliance?

I invite you to join the 2022 Organising Committee, ASBAQ members, our valued sponsors and exhibitors to work together towards a solution focussed conference and rethink our challenges and opportunities with Fresh Perspectives.
